I understand why boys like the Grand Prix!

The Common Wealth Games ended on Wednesday and the Formula One Grand Prix had already begun setting up promotions along Southbank and Albert Park. Originally, this event was held in Adelaide (SE of Melbourne) but it was moved to Melbourne a few years ago and is the subject of a lot of controversy. Many people feel it brings too much noise and traffic to the area and that it takes away from the "beautiful Albert Park." In reality though, Albert Park was a dumpy running trail before the Grand Prix was brought here!

We were able to hear the engines roaring from our apartment all weekend and after standing just next to the track, I understand why boys like watching it! It's fast, dangerous, and loud... all the things boys like! ;) We watched from turn 9 and Meagan and I were obviously unaware that we should have bought ear plugs, because everyone around us had them in!! Eventually we had to plug our ears with our fingers just to preserve what little hearing we had left!
