Aussie Aussie Aussie Oye Oye Oye!!!

January 26th is one of the biggest public holidays in Australia... Australia Day!! I spent the day working at La Scala and then shopped a little with Mom before heading home and making dinner. We tagged along with the Canadians (flatmates) for a trip down to the Docklands to see the huge yachts in the harbour and the beautiful firework display provided for the city. About 4 glasses of wine later, Natalie and I were drunk as skunks and having a blast. Here are some pictures of the "interesting" artwork at the Docklands.

Friday night the flatmates and Mom fought through the crowds of avid tennis fans watching the Australian Open on a big screen in Federation Square to celebrate Gavin's birthday at the Chocolate Buddha. I read about this restaurant in the travel book Sarah G. gave me and it was a great atmosphere. Cafeteria style dining with Buddha statues all around gave the restaurant a very comfortable feel. We kept the night going by grabbing some ice cream from the Casino and watched the flame towers erupt at 10pm.
